About Us

Thoraxcentrum at Blekingesjukhuset was established in 2007 to consolidate all cardiac care and thoracic surgery under one leadership.

The mission is to provide the residents of Region Blekinge, Kronoberg, and to some extent Skåne with access to good cardiological care as well as highly specialized cardiology, which includes heart and lung surgery, invasive electrophysiology and ablations, pacemakers, ICD/CRT, invasive cardiology/PCI, and TAVI. The catchment area for the highly specialized care corresponds to approximately 330,000 inhabitants.

All operations are characterized by close collaboration between cardiologists, interventionists, thoracic surgeons, and thoracic anesthesiologists with short decision-making paths in a highly stimulating multidisciplinary environment. Full responsibility exists around the clock for coronary angiography/PCI treatment as well as for thoracic surgery.

Thoraxcentrum has about 250 employees distributed across the admission unit, care departments, outpatient services, surgical operations, intensive care unit, and radiology department. Our goal is to offer the best possible cardiac care with individual opportunities for skill enhancement and development, as well as the possibility to conduct research. We actively work on evaluating the clinic's patient processes and flows to best offer personalized care.

About the Job

We are now looking for a specialist physician in Cardiology with experience and interest in the full breadth of general cardiology. Rounds on heart wards, heart clinics, and on-call duties are part of the job responsibilities. Work may occur at hospitals in both Karlskrona and Karlshamn.

Supervision of ST and AT doctors is included in the position. You will be part of a multidisciplinary and highly specialized team, and there are good opportunities to further develop within various areas of cardiology.

About You

You should be a licensed physician and a specialist in Cardiology. If you are also a specialist in Internal Medicine, this is an advantage. Good knowledge of echocardiography is a requirement, and backup competence is welcome.

As a person, you are structured, responsible, and have good collaboration and communication skills. You are curious and driven by an interest in constantly developing further and function well as a knowledge resource for others.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
